I bid you farewell, and I truly hope that if you want to talk further, you contact me via email! It was lovely to get to know everyone, and I leave you with a final note about the month of June in Brazil. Festa Junina, also known as the Saint John Festival or June parties, holds a special place in the hearts of the people of Pará. The origins and meaning of Festa Junina trace back to the colonial period in Brazil, when Portuguese settlers brought their midsummer traditions. Held in June, the festival marks the end of the corn harvest season, celebrating abundance and giving thanks for the bountiful crops. It is a time when communities come together to honor Saint John the Baptist, the festival's patron saint, through lively festivities filled with music, dance and delicious food.

During Festa Junina, the streets of Pará come alive with vibrant decorations and joyful festivities. Traditional costumes, known as caipira, adorn the participants. Women wear colorful patchwork dresses, braided hair and freckles painted on their faces, while men don straw hats, checkered shirts and suspenders. The decorations feature colorful paper lanterns, bunting and straw dolls known as bonecas de palha, adding a charming rustic touch to the celebrations.
