My time in Brazil was definitely a challenge. The first month here in particular was very challenging for me, and I experienced a lot of low emotions in the unfamiliar place. However, after I settled in and found my footing I began to develop a routine and a community here in my home away from home. I began travelling, trying new things and making new friends over time. I am so proud of myself for not leaving early and deciding to stay!
This experience has truly taught me a lot about myself. I have learned that I am resilient and able to adapt to new environments. I also learned that I can be adventurous, which is something I never believed about myself. As this journey comes to an end I want to thank you all for being a part of it. By participating in this program it helped me to remember all the good things happening while I am here and keep that in perspective, rather than focusing on the more frustrating things from this experience.
I would encourage you all to at least look into studying abroad. Even if money is a barrier, there are scholarships available that can possibly fund your whole trip or almost all of it. This is something I wish all people get to experience.
