All About Me!

We are a NCAA D3 Softball team so we practice a lot, and we have won our conference the last two years!

This summer, I was a Charles B. Rangel Scholar with the Department of State. I got to learn about careers in International Relations. I want to become a diplomat and represent the US in other countries.

Last Summer, I traveled to Rwanda where I studied how the country has rebuilt itself after war. When we did not have class, my classmates and I played soccer with the local children. I am not very good at soccer so the children won every game! This sparked my interest in Sports Diplomacy. Sports Diplomacy is the use of sports to build relationships through a shared interest of sports. Even though we spoke different languages and were from different cultures, we were still able to become friends through soccer.

I loved my time in Rwanda and decided to apply to spend a semester in a new country. To continue to study Russian, I decided to study in Estonia. Estonia was a part of the Soviet Union until 1991. Many Estonians speak Estonian, Russian, and English! Estonia is next to Russia so there is a lot of russian influence in the country. Estonia is also a part of the European Union, so it is very easy to travel around Europe from Estonia. I live in the capital city, Tallinn. Tallinn is home to one of Northern Europes best-preserved medieval cities. Because Tallinn is located on the Baltic Sea, many people traveled to Tallinn to trade. Today, Estonia is known for its use of technology. Many services are digital - you can even start a business in 15 minutes! In Tallinn, I live across the street from Tallinn University in an apartment with other American Students.
