I go to school in the neighboring town, so I don't go to the same school my mom teaches at. The taxi comes at 6:30am and takes me, my sister and about four to six others. We know all the village taxi drivers, so it's not like we are going alone. I'm usually home by 4pm.
My school has a canteen outside that sells food but we will eat inside our classroom. My favorite food is boiled plantain! I eat it with a stew (think of a thick gravy).
My school is in our market town, so it's much bigger than the village and more people know English. There, we speak English and sometimes Twi. We don't usually say hello, but instead will greet someone based on the time of day. For example, good morning, good afternoon, good evening.
About half of the students will go by their day name. In Ghana, depending on the day of the week you were born, you'll have a day name. Ben said he will teach them to you soon!
We have eight subjects in school. I study math, science, English, Twi, religious and moral education, computing, creative arts and history. My favorite class is creative arts. We get to draw and do fun things.
