and I really needed something different with more vegetables. I took her to La Châtelaine du Liban, a Lebanese restaurant where we got some small plates to share, and it was pretty good. Mediterranean food is my personal favorite, so I know that I'll be going back!
My flatmate and I have a collaborative playlist on Spotify called "parlez vous francais." Can you tell we've got some work to do on our French? Last Friday, Belgium celebrated La Fête de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles (the Festival of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation). Wallonia is the southern region of Belgium, and for the celebration, Angèle - one of the most popular Belgian singers right now - performed a free concert in Grand Place. We listened to her music on Friday night.
I loved going to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France! Admittedly, it was quite late at night after a long day of sightseeing, and I was surprisingly a little nervous about how high we were going even though I actually love rollercoasters. I enjoyed the thrill of going up, and it was pretty cool to stand up there, see a panorama of the city and be able to point out the places that we had visited earlier in the day.
I actually did lots of reading for my lithium-ion battery recycling research. I spend most of my day on Monday through Friday researching and reading about the current state of battery recycling as part of the literature review for my larger research project. It's important to know what already exists out there about batteries, so I can be sure to bring something new to the conversation.
