Throughout the whole week it stayed between about 60-70°F. There were a few rainy days, but Japan doesn't get its rainy season until the summer, so it wasn't anything too bad. There were a few sunny days as well, which I definitely prefer, but it can get hot when the sun starts beating down!
I mostly saw birds, including sparrows, pigeons and crows. It's also common to come across stray cats, especially at night. It's sort of strange not seeing animals that I'm so used to seeing back home, like squirrels and rabbits. Japan does have its own species of these animals, but they're not as widespread as their counterparts back in the US are.
I didn't get a chance to take a photo of it, but I came across an emperor caterpillar this week. It's a fat green caterpillar that's about three inches in length. It's definitely bigger than any caterpillar I've seen back in the US! I didn't realize it before, but Japan is home to many large insects.
