The main language spoken in Paris is French. But English, Spanish and Mandarin make a close second. It definitely depends on what area of town you are in as to which language is the most prominent. The closer you are to tourist attractions the more variety of languages you will hear. In the 13eme Arrondissement where Paris' China Town is located, you will hear a lot of people speaking Mandarin, Vietnamese and Thai.
The only currency used in Paris is the euro! It is always helpful to have a couple of coins or currency notes with you, just in case a store does not accept card payments for small purchases.
A bottle of water costs around 1.50 euros, but it always depends on the brand and the size!
The best meal I had this week was a pasta dish my friends and I cooked together in my dorm's communal kitchen. We made our own sauce and even baked some cookies to bring to a party that night! I have grown to love cooking while being abroad because we can always create some meals that remind us of home.
