What main languages are spoken here?:

People in Spain differentiate their version of Spanish from Latin American Spanish by calling it 'Castellano.' Here in Galicia, everybody also speaks Gallego, or Galician. This is a regional language only spoken in Galicia that sounds like a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish.

What type of money is used here?:

The Euro! One Euro is around one dollar and five cents in US currency.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

It is super cheap. A big bottle of store-brand mineral water from the grocery store costs 0.60€ ($0.63).

What was the best meal this week?:

I appreciate the simplicity of Spanish food. As I'm writing this, I'm sitting in a cafetería (coffee shop/bar) on my recreo (break) from teaching, sipping some café con leche (coffee with milk) and biting into some good tortilla (Spanish potato and egg omelette). 

What music did I listen to this week?:

Rosalía, who is now a global pop star, is from Spain. Her song "Despachá" plays on the radio and at a lot of parties often.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

Last week, we had our Mid-Year Fulbright Conference held in Santiago de Compostela.
