The main languages spoken here are Italian and English. However I've heard and met people who spoke more than the two common languages, including French and Spanish.
The money that is used here is the euro!
Something that is different from America is oftentimes we even have to pay for water in a restaurant. However, the average bottle of water costs usually around one euro here.
The best meal I've had this week was actually a homemade meal cooked by an Italian friend of mine. It is called amatriciana. It’s a classic Roman pasta made with rich tomato sauce, crispy guanciale and a sprinkle of Pecorino Romano cheese. The flavors were so bold and comforting, and sharing an authentic Italian meal with friends made it even more special. I love homemade meals because they bring a certain warmth and authenticity that restaurant food often lacks.
