Thank You Seoul

Stepping out of my comfort zone to try new foods, clothing styles, and activities has been both exhilarating and transformative.

One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the importance of seeing the world through a different lens. Experiencing life in South Korea has made me more open-minded and reflective. It’s clear to me that there are aspects of South Korean society from which the United States could learn, such as their emphasis on community and tradition. At the same time, living in Seoul made me appreciate certain comforts and cultural distinctions of home that I might have taken for granted.

The food in Korea deserves its own celebration. From savory street food to exquisite traditional dishes, I discovered an entirely new palette that I’ve come to adore. The culinary diversity and bold flavors have spoiled me, and I’m already dreading the return to a more Western diet. Korean food is, quite simply, extraordinary, and I’ll miss it dearly.

Equally significant are the friendships I’ve formed during my time here. The bonds I’ve built with people from around the world have been a highlight of this journey. Together, we explored the wonders of Korea, shared our cultures, and cultivated a shared love for travel and discovery. It’s comforting to know that I now have friends across the globe, and I’m excited to see how our paths will cross again in the future.

Seoul’s dynamic atmosphere is something I will deeply miss. There was always something to do, places to explore, and people to meet. The city’s blend of ancient traditions and modern vibrancy is unmatched, and I’ll carry fond memories of its bustling streets, stunning architecture, and breathtaking natural landscapes.
