My four months in South Korea have come to an end, marking the conclusion of one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Reflecting on this journey, I am overwhelmed with gratitude and pride. Living alone in a foreign country, adapting to a new culture, and embracing a completely different lifestyle have been intense challenges, but they have also been profoundly rewarding. This adventure has tested my resilience and broadened my horizons in ways I could never have imagined.

As I prepare to return to the United States, I am filled with mixed emotions. I am thrilled to reunite with my family and friends, but leaving Seoul fills me with nostalgia and sadness. South Korea has become a cherished place, and its vibrant energy, rich culture, and warm people have left a permanent mark on me.

Living in South Korea has been a masterclass in cultural immersion and adaptability. I’ve learned the importance of understanding and respecting societal norms, from appropriate ways to interact with people to knowing what is acceptable behavior in different settings. Navigating a new currency and mastering daily transactions were also challenges that became growth opportunities.
