I read a bunch of scientific papers as well as an amazing book of essays, Braiding Sweetgrass, which talks about indigenous thought and modern science! I also have been reading the Kieler Nachrichten (Kiel newspaper) and The New York Times to keep up to date on what is happening in my neighborhood and the greater world!
This week, I mostly kept active by going on runs. I also, however, went dancing with some friends and took the first session of my indoor rowing training course, which was a great opportunity to practice my German skills and work out!
I also went bowling this week with the International Student Network here in Kiel, which was just like being back in the U.S., except I had friends there from many different countries, including Pakistan, India, Turkey, Bangladesh, and South Africa! It was awesome to share this experience with all of them, and they were nice even though I lost terribly!
