¡Hola! Hello! My name is Cassandra, but you can call me Cass. I’m in my third year of college, studying accounting at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. I am 20 years old and I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the summer, it gets so hot that my friends bake cookies in our cars using only the sun’s heat!
For as long as I can remember, I’ve heard the familiar melody of Spanish all around me--in class, in grocery stores, and even while exploring Las Vegas and Los Angeles. From this, I knew I always wanted to study abroad in a Spanish-speaking country, where I could learn even more about Spanish food, music and culture.
Recently, I was very fortunate to be accepted into my school’s exchange program with the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain. I will switch places with a Spanish international student from January 2020 to May 2020. I applied for and received the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which has helped me make this study abroad opportunity possible.
In Spain, I will be studying business and learning how different countries operate and handle money. During this time, I’ll be taking lots of photos and videos to record my journey, and I can’t wait for you to come along with me! ¡Vamos! Let’s go!
