Every day I travel from Oviedo (where I live) to Gijón (where I teach). The journey takes about an hour and a half. I walk and take two buses to get from one place to another. Over the weekend, I visited Llanes, which was an hour and a half bus ride from Oviedo.
The farthest place I have traveled so far on my journey was Valencia, Spain. Valencia is located on the east coast of Spain and is about 808 kilometers away from where I live. I took two different trains and traveled for about six hours to reach my destination. Since Valencia is farther south than where I live, it has a much warmer climate and gets a lot more sunshine. Because of this, many citrus trees can grow there, even in the winter! This is why Valencia is often called the city of oranges.
This week, I used three different modes of transportation to get around. I walked to go to markets, stores and my friends' houses. To get to school and to travel to other cities, I took the bus or train.
