Brazilian Culture/Traditions

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

Beyond the religious component, the holiday coincides with the end of the rainy season and the harvest in the southern hemisphere. The harvest signaled the people to thank their saints for the bounty and celebrate this food. For this reason, everyone in Brazil dresses up as "caipiras" or rural people to celebrate the farmers.
