For example, they trade off taking the kids to school and picking them up; and if either parent must travel, they always coordinate so they are never gone at the same time. Sometimes they get help from Paul's parents as well because they also live in Dublin. The grandparents enjoy being with their grandchildren, and Paul's kids love it, too!
Their mother's parents live a little farther away in Tipperary, where she's originally from. Her parents used to run a dairy farm before retiring. As you may have guessed, Tipperary is in the countryside. Dairies are very common in that area. Another thing very common in Tipperary is the breeding of race horses. People from all over the world travel to Tipperary to buy horses for racing.
To get back and forth to work, Paul normally tries to ride his bike the 20 to 25 minutes from home to his office. Of course, he said he drives his car if it's raining too hard. The family also uses the car any time they're out and about.
At home, Paul said he's become more of a stereotypical dad when it comes to dressing. He wears comfortable clothes, which he doesn't mind getting dirty since he is constantly keeping up with his young children.
What he wears to the office has changed over time. When he first started working for Citi some years ago, people wore suits with a tie. These days, however, things have become a little more casual. Paul has meetings with people from very different companies and from all over the world. Because of this, he now tries to match his level of "dressiness" to his clients.
