So many activities were difficult at first, including learning a new language and a new way of taking a bath and cooking food, but it is amazing how much we are able to adapt to our surroundings, and I have so much respect for the members of my community who experience hardships every day and rise above their struggles. All change takes time, so be patient with yourself.
As my time here draws to a close, I’ve realized that I have learned so much about myself and my place in the world. I've learned a lot about the role we can all play to increase awareness of other cultures as well as other communities that differ from our own. I’ve really enjoyed sharing with you what I’ve experienced and learned so far! I hope our time together will motivate you all even more to learn more about the bright and colorful culture of Mozambique.
