Mee Yeon and I met through Reach the World's mentoring program. This mentoring program is called the Local Hosts program! It is part of the Citi e for education program.
Although I was shy upon first meeting, I quickly found Mee Yeon to be really nice and very fun to talk to. It was also interesting that she's a Yonsei alumni, from the same university I am attending for my study abroad program! In this Field Note, she will be talking to us about her daily life in Korea. I hope that you would enjoy getting to know her, just as I did.
My full name is Mee Yeon Won.
I live in Singeumho (신금호), near my office in Gwanghwamun (광화문). I live in an officetel, which is a type of studio in Korea. Officetels are buildings that are part residential and part commercial.
My family includes my parents, me and my younger sister. My father works in the banking industry, but he was transferred to a branch outside of Seoul, so he currently lives away from us and visits monthly. My mother is a housewife and my sister is a recent college graduate.
