Even in the U.S., there are people from all over the world, so you can learn a lot just by talking to someone new. Don’t be shy—asking questions helps you learn! Traveling and meeting new people helps your heart grow more kind and caring. And guess what? Traveling doesn’t have to be expensive—there are cheap trains and flights in Europe and in lots of other places too!
Italy was a very special place for me. I stayed there for 4 months. I learned what it’s like to be a doctor in Italy. I I saw how people live differently in the north and the south. I also studied how people in Italy learn English, so they can talk to people like you and me! Sometimes, I felt nervous or scared that I wouldn’t be able to do something. But I always took a deep breath and found a way to keep going or asked someone for help. If I can do it, I know you can too!
You are a wonderful group of students, and you have such a great teacher. Ms. Fendrick is one of the only teachers I know in Terre Haute who teaches kids like you about other countries, cultures, monuments and holidays. Don’t forget to thank her for how much she cares about you and all the cool things she teaches you! I I hope you have a great rest of the school year, little world travelers!
Love,
Cheyenne
