Dear Ms. Fendrick’s Class,
What an awesome journey we had! We "traveled" all around Italy, and even visited other places in Europe and Morocco too. You learned so many Italian words and phrases, and found out about tasty Italian food like gelato, pizza and carbonara. You also got to learn about fun Italian traditions, like Carnevale in Venice with its colorful masks. After spending the past 2 months together, it almost feels like you’ve been to Italy!
I really loved seeing your happy faces during our video calls. You paid such good attention, asked smart questions and shared funny and fun comments! You’re all amazing students. Now you know more about Italy than most people in the United States. Thank you for making our time together so fun and exciting! And thank you so much for the cards you made for me. Your drawings and sweet messages made me smile.
I want you to remember that there’s a big, wide world out there outside of Terre Haute. Maybe one day, you’ll get to visit some of the places we talked about. It’s important to be kind to people from other countries, to learn about their traditions and to listen to their stories.
