It can be a little draining for me to speak Spanish at times, because it requires a lot of thinking. When I'm with my friends, they understand that and let me come in and out of the conversation as needed. Sometimes, I take breaks from talking just to recharge! I really enjoyed spending time with them this week.
This week, I did not read a lot, but I did pick up my book, "Animal Farm" (also known as Rebelión en la Granja in Spanish). I started where I left off and read a little bit in between the classes that I am teaching.
This week, I played soccer with two of my friends. One of them is from Colombia and the other is from Mexico. We made a make-shift goal and played a "non-serious" game of soccer. They knew that I was pretty bad at soccer but they still played with me, which I appreciate! I really just needed something to do and I wanted to get out of the house and smell some fresh air. Soccer is a very common sport among many Latin Americans, while football is more common among us from the United States.
This week was my birthday, and I had a great time with friends in my tiny house. We made a bunch of pastries and danced. I made a cheesecake, my friend from france made rice pudding, my friend from Germany made an apple cake and my friend from Mexico made a chocolate cake.
