It truly has been really rewarding to share my experiences so far in Colombia with you all. When I first started learning Spanish when I was your age, I never thought that I would be where I am now (no pun intended). Being able to connect with people through their language and learn about so many different cultures has brought me so much joy over the years, and I can't imagine what else I would be doing with my life if I hadn't decided to go down this path.

Even if you don't decide to further your education at the collegiate level, I highly recommend that you continue learning languages. You don't have to become fluent, but learning a new language isn't just about the language - it opens up a whole new world. I know you are from a small town in the Nebraska, and I hope if you get the chance to travel you take it. Whether it be within our country or outside of the United States, traveling is so important. It broadens your perspectives on life and gives you experiences that are invaluable. If you do decide to further your education, there are plenty of programs out there such as the programs that have sent me around the world, the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship & Fulbright U.S. Student program. I couldn't be more grateful!
