We spent three hours at the dinner table all together and it was one of the loveliest meals I have had here in Israel.
One of my friends in Israel is a musician. He is working on finishing recording his album so I spent some time with him in the music studio listening to him play and working out some of the kinks. His music is very influenced by jazz, which is not a genre of music I usually listen to.
I went to an Israeli wedding this week. It was basically a big party with a lot of good food. I had a stellar time and danced for many hours with my friends and their families. There were over 400 people there! I have heard that some Israeli weddings are even bigger! It was a lot of fun and I look forward to going to another in the future.
One of my classes is on the history and society of Palestine. For this class, I read a few short articles about the societal structure of Palestinian families which are heavily focused on the patriarchy. Though women do have a lot of rights in Islam, these are often times not represented in the greater society, like in Palestine.
I have tried to go climbing at least three times every week. I went to the climbing gym four times this week and had fun bringing new friends and meeting new people there! It is such a great way to meet people and also to get in some exercise.
