Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I traveled three hours to see my friends in Giv'at Olga. It is about 115 kilometers from Jerusalem to Giv'at Olga. So, in total, I traveled 230 kilometers over the weekend. I walked about 10 kilometers per day. In total, I traveled about 300 kilometers; 70 kilometers walking!

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

I have traveled thousands and thousands of kilometers on this journey and am excited to add many more! I have so many more places to see in Israel and cannot wait to adventure to them. I have begun to make friends with more Israelis who have invited me to travel with them to see their families in places like Haifa, Eilat and other cities and towns I have not explored yet!

How did I get around this week?:

To see my friends in Giv'at Olga, I traveled by bus. I took one bus from the center of Jerusalem to Giv'at Olga, where my friends picked me up at the bus stop. I drove back to Jerusalem with one of my friends in their car. Otherwise, I always use public transportation to get around. Taxis are far too expensive and the bus and lightrail systems here in Israel are extremely reliable.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

For the weekend, I went to Giv'at Olga, a small town north of Tel Aviv and Netanya, and south of Haifa. I spent two days there with 12 friends.
