Heart and Seoul: Exploring Korea Through its Food

Introduction:

Korea has so many restaurants and foods to try, especially in such a big city like Seoul. It's really interesting to see and try all the options because the food here ranges from traditional, old dishes to new, modern ones. Food can be bought anywhere, the most popular being restaurants, convenience stores and street food stalls. It's really hard to tell you everything about the food here in Korea in such a short article, but I'll try to give you an idea of what it's like!

What food did I try?:

The food that I have as the main image of this article is called Bibimbap, and it's a super popular, traditional Korean dish. It has a big bowl of rice covered with cooked vegetables, beef and a cooked egg. There's always a spicy sauce over top that makes it even more interesting to taste. It also comes with a lot of side dishes, which are the little plates in the picture. These are called banchan, and they add even more food for you to eat! They usually consist of more delicious vegetables that have been cooked or pickled, and what's interesting is that they are unlimited, meaning that if you want more, you can get more for free! Meals like this aren't expensive at all, and they definitely don't leave you hungry.
