Well, this is it, students! The end of our Reach the World journey. It was such a blast to learn with you all, and share you just a little bit about beautiful Portugal. I wish we had more time, but I hope this experience taught you a little bit about this beautiful country and got you excited to explore more of the world!
I did not travel outside of the country until I was much older than all of you. I did not know a lot about what the world was like outside of the USA. But I am so grateful that I went outside my comfort zone and started learning about this amazing world we live in! There are so many different languages, cultures, foods and people on this planet...it can get overwhelming sometimes. But it can also be a lot of fun, and help us grow as human beings. Because in the end, that is what we all are, no matter where we live -- human beings.
So as you grow up and go through school, don't be afraid to try new things! Seek out opportunities to go abroad to visit new places, especially once you get to high school and college. You won't regret it.
As for me, I am back in the United States for the Christmas holiday! After New Year's I am headed back to Lisbon for the next six months to finish my Fulbright project.
