Daily Life in Tronadora with Yadixsa

Introduction:

When you come to Costa Rica, locals love talking about "Tico-time". It's a light-hearted jab at the fact that culturally, things happen more slowluy here. For example, if someone says they'll do something ahorita (now), it means it might get done in the next hour, day or even week! I always bring a book with me to meetings, becuase it's common for people to show up 30-40 minutes later than the agreed-upon start time. However, Tico-time belies the fact that people work hard here. Yadixsa, a mother, rancher and focus of this field note is always busy. But despite her packed schedule, she loves what she does! In the following sections, we'll learn a little more about Yadixsa and what her life is like here in Tronadora.

What is your full name?:

Yadixsa Castillo Campos.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

Yadixsa lives in the center of Tronadora, sandwiched between the supermarket and the carniceria (the butcher). The house is small, but it has just enough space for her son, mother, father and cousin to all live under the same roof! The house has four rooms, including a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and a garage that they use to host events and parties.
