After about three years of working in this field, I decided to change my environment and use my background and skills in a new and exciting way by serving as a volunteer for the Peace Corps in the community economic development program.
I chose to come to Perú because I have always loved Spanish and Latino culture and language. During high school, I lived, worked and developed friendships in a community of people from Latin America. During college, I interned for two years in the accounting department at a company based in Mexico, where I was exposed to the business operations side of Latino culture. I also love exploring new places and had never been to South America before. So, for all of these reasons, Perú seemed like the perfect fit! I came to Perú in April 2024, and have been learning about Peurvian culture, traditions, food and language. There is still much more for us to discover, so let´s continue learning on this journey together! ¡Vamanos!
