A Day in the Life in Barcelona

What jobs do your parents have?:

My friend's parents were a schoolteacher and an engineer. They enjoyed their work. They made sure they had enough time to spend with their family.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School usually started at nine a.m. Kids were in class until noon. Then they would take a break. They would have lunch, play or do other things. They would go back to class at three p.m. They went home at five p.m.

How is this school day different from your school day?

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

A lot of students walk if their school is close enough. My friend did not walk. He took the metro to get to school. The metro is a train that runs underground. He was allowed to take the metro to school by himself! Few kids get to school this way. How do you get to school?

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

He and his friends would eat lunch at a park near the school. His favorite lunch was a ham bocadillo with a natural tomato sauce on top.

At school the kids spoke Catalan and Spanish. They also learned English at school. Hello is "hola" in both Catalan and Spanish.
