The locals sing along with the music in English, but most people do not really understand the songs, which are just fun to sing and dance to.
Going to un partido de fútbol (a soccer game) was the most fun I had this week! It was fun cheering for Barcelona and watching the world's greatest soccer player, Lionel Messi, play. We won the game 3-0!
For my literature class, I read a story called Esplendoroso Pasado, which translates to "Splendorous Past". It is an ironic story because the "past" described in the story by the two main characters, Miriam and Moises, was not splendorous. In fact, they described very turbulent times filled with wars, violence and chaos.
I watched two Spanish television game shows, one called "Boom!" and the other, whose name I don't remember, was similar to "Wheel of Fortune." It was exhilarating to understand the Spanish and to be able to answer the questions correctly.
