Hola! Hello! My name is Deztiny Dennis and I am a sophomore (second-year student) at Dartmouth College. This winter, I will be moving from my home in California to a new home in Barcelona, Spain! I will be living and studying in Spain, all while working hard to improve my ability to communicate in Spanish. I'm mostly excited to taste signature Spanish dishes, meet lots of new people, learn more about the culture in Spain, visit historical buildings and travel to surrounding countries (such as France).
I grew up in a very diverse neighborhood in Lancaster, California. Spanish was constantly spoken around me, so I've always wanted to become fluent in it. When I was younger, I also loved to play doctor. I would put a blanket under my shirt and scream, "I'm going to be a baby doctor!" To this day, I still plan on becoming a doctor, which is why I'm studying medicine at my college. My main interests besides medicine are traveling, dancing and learning new languages. By studying abroad, I can pursue all of these passions. I look forward to sharing my experience with all of you! Stay tuned for one crazy (yet interesting) adventure!
