Dear Ms. Dearborn's Class,
Since our time together is coming to an end, it is now time to say goodbye, or dovidenia, to one another. I've loved being able to share my life here in Slovakia with all of you and I hope you have enjoyed learning about a new place. Who knows, maybe one day you'll even end up here!
Teaching in Slovakia has taught me so much more about the world and myself. From halušky to stužková and fašiangy, every new experience has made me realize how much value there is in learning about new things and meeting new people. When I go back to America and start to teach in a classroom of my own, I know I am going to have so many more ways to connect with my students and countless stories to share with them about what I have seen on the other side of the world.
When I was your age, I would have never thought that I would be living and teaching in Slovakia, but I wouldn't change it for the world now. One piece of advice I can offer all of you is never to be afraid to try new things. Sometimes it is good to leave your comfort zone and do something that scares you every once in a while. Trust me, it's good for you!
Ďakujem a dovidenia (Thank you and goodbye),
Kate
