Coming to London has been quite an experience, and one of the biggest things I have had to get used to is the method of travel. I have gotten lost at least a dozen of times since I have been here, but I am slowly adjusting. Traveling in London is so unpredictable, and the commute can be quick or long. I can be standing for 30 minutes or be lucky enough to find an open seat.
The main mode of transportation in London is definitely the Tube, or the "Underground". The Tube is essentially a subway train system that travels to different zones all across London. Zones outline the different areas in London, of which there are nine total. The other modes of transportation include the overground trains, the bus, biking, and, of course, driving a car. Since I have been here I have taken the overground and the bus, but they usually take significantly longer than riding the Tube. I would love to bike to places, but the weather has been very rainy.
I feel optimistic when I travel on the Tube. I mainly go to school and to my internship during the week, so I know my routes to these places. My biggest hope every time I ride the Tube is that the Tube is not delayed and that I have a chance to sit down.
