Many Londoners enjoy smoking cigarettes, and the air is often polluted with foul smells. Furthermore, the cloudy air often holds in the particles of pollution from the street traffic, creating a lot of smog. I am not used to being around streets filled with trash and polluted air.
Adapting to these differences in the natural environment and human choices has been a bit tricky. There have been times where it has been frustrating, especially due to all the second hand smoke. Overall, the environment here has been a bit tricky to adapt to. London is changing, though. Recently, the U.K. passed a law banning smoking in the pubs, which is where people typically like to hang out. This is a great step forward!
