Easter in Gadjagan

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

The Voodoo is connected deeply to the enviornment. Voodoo shrines are common even in my village, there are large mounds with cowrie shells and other seashells to show reverence to nature. Cowrie shells used to be used as currency in Togo so they are used now as a way to show a sacrifice to abundance, wealth, and prosperity. However, it is very taboo for foreigners to touch or take photos of anything Voodoo. Before I take any photos I must be given permission.
