Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week I traveled a total of 182 miles! I ride the bus or train for seven miles to and from school everyday, and traveled about 70 miles each way for a trip to Reggio Calabria. This doesn’t include the places I walk to, like when I walk on the beach for fun or when I walk to the train station or grocery store.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Since I left home, I’ve traveled about 8,630 miles! This includes driving three hours to the airport, flying across the world to get to Italy, moving between school and home and my trips around Italy. It’s hard to believe I’ve traveled so far!

How did I get around this week?:

This week I traveled by bus, train, car and by foot. The train is probably my favorite because the views of the ocean are amazing. The bus can be fun because some of my students ride the same bus as me! Public transportation here isn’t as good as it is in big cities, but it is still really nice. I don’t have a car, but I’ve traveled with friends in one of theirs. Driving in Italy is chaotic! It’s always an adventure. I walk a to lot of places around town and along the beach as well.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I go to the piazza in Roccella fairly often, but this week was special. They put up Christmas lights!
