Hello everyone!

A little backstory to me.  I am an 18 year old graduate from U.C. Berkeley, a university in California. At Berkeley, I studied Molecular and Cell Biology, and learned about the workings of the microscopic (invisible to the eye) parts of us. You might be asking, "how are you so young and yet have already graduated from university?" The answer lies in my childhood: when I was ten, I was homeschooled for two years. Over that time, I studied really hard, and by the age of twelve twelve I was able to start taking community college classes. Eventually, I transferred to U.C. Berkeley to study for my Bachelor's degree!

I know a lot of people who take a biology class, and hate it immediately because it seems to be a memorization exercise of a bunch of details. And I definitely had my own moments of hating the memorization required in a biology course.

Despite this, I knew Biology was going to become my passion when I began to see the story of life. Learning the names of all the cell compartments gave me the vocabulary I needed to enjoy learning about the processes. In this respect, learning biological principles is similar to learning a new language: sometimes you just have to memorize the names of foods and actions. The joy of using the language in order to access an entirely new culture - that is the payoff!
