Our News

What main languages are spoken here?:

In Denmark, the main languages are Danish and English. Now two months into my study abroad experience, I have learned some more phrases, but locals are accomadating and can usually tell I'm not a true local. In Italy, Italian is the main language, but I had no trouble asking if people could speak English.

What type of money is used here?:

In Denmark, the currency is a krone, or kroner (plural). 1 Danish krone is 15 cents in USD.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

Bottled water prices can vary in supermarkets, restaurants and convenience stores but the average cost is 12 DKK ($2). At Netto, the local grocery store, you can buy 1.5 litres for a better deal. I have a Britta water bottle that I take everywhere with me, and the city's tap water is safe to drink and high quality.

What was the best meal this week?:

Aside from the pizza and pastries that I nonstop ate this week, I always return to my favorite Copenhagen hot dog stand in city square. The hotdogs are bigger than my face and unbeatable! I could'nt visit Italy without having coffee with every meal, and I had the most amazing affogato (an Italian dessert with a scoop of ice cream "drowned" in a shot of espresso) and chai lattes.
