Goodbye

Writing to you about food or nature or transportation reminded me that daily life is full of little moments to enjoy. Rather than viewing my time here as something to fill with as many new countries and new experiences as possible, I am going to focus on pushing myself in humbler moments. Whether that means trying a new pastry recommended by one of my friends, or raising my hand more in classroom discussions about the U.S.-Mexican border, or impulsively taking a bus to Luxembourg, I want to acknowledge what I have achieved. For me that means acknowleding that my abroad experience is my own. It is up to me to determine what will make it fulfilling for me and how to shape it so that in the future when I look back on it, I will be proud and happy.

Writing these articles has been a really wonderful way for me to reflect upon my experience. They have at times been a source of motivation to actually go out and do things, and also a reality-check that there is more to life than just studying. I hope hearing about my time abroad has led you to imagine living abroad sometime yourself. It really is eye-opening. It has been my pleasure to share my time abroad with you. Thank you for reading.
