Hello to Mr. Daugherty’s class!!

Before I share more about my life as an honorary Galway girl, I will share a little bit more about my journey leading up to this point. I was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming and I grew up in Patchogue, New York. I attended Patchogue-Medford High School and walked the very halls that you find yourself in today. As a sophomore, I was a student of Mr. D.’s during his first period AP Chemistry class. Little did I know back then that this class would form the foundation for a lifetime love of science and eventually lead me to my current internship in Galway, Ireland. Although these two points in my life seem to be far apart, trust me when I tell you that the experiences that you have now will open many doors for you years down the road! If it had not been for those early morning titrations, stoichiometry lessons and gas law calculations, I would not have found myself in Galway today. Here is a little bit more about how I got here…

As a sophomore, I did not know what I wanted to study in college, let alone what I wanted to pursue as a career. I loved learning about a variety of different subjects and could picture myself excelling in a career in several different fields.
