I have made it a goal of mine to befriend local Thai people and remain friends even after the end of my exchange program, so I was excited to have a reason to hang out with my classmates outside of school. For this article I interviewed a classmate of mine named Nara at a cool mall near the weekend market.
My name is Ponlapat Rojwattana.
I live in Bangkok with my family, and my house is a kind of townhome. It is small like an apartment, and the walls are shared with our neighbors. We have a backyard and a patio unlike an apartment, though.
My family is conservative. We share traditional values such as respecting and upholding our king and following Buddha's teachings closely. We respect democracy, but we believe monarchy is what works best in the Kingdom of Thailand. I have one sister, but she is much younger than I am. She is 12 years old. My mom and dad are from the older generation. That is why they are conservative.
