The primary language spoken is Thai, though there are many places within the city that have English translations on signs. All ATMs also offer service in Mandarin, English and French. I have gotten very good at charades and learned a couple key phrases in Thai.
The Thai baht is used here, which has a ratio of about 30 to one USD.
A plastic bottle costs around 20 Baht, and a glass one which is slightly larger runs at around 100 Baht.
Soi Polo Fried Chicken! It is found at a local restaurant known for its amazing fired chicken topped with crispy garlic pieces. It is served with a sweet chili glaze that was so tasty!
I have not been able to figure out the radio stations, so I have mostly listened to my music from back home such as Frank Ocean, Ozuna and Kevin Garrett.
Yesterday I explored the Wattana district downtown. I saw some cool markets and had the best sticky rice and mango dessert. I only bought a new canvas tote to use for school, but I can't wait to go back and try out the Thai I learned at orientation for school!
