Italian Food

Introduction:

When we think about Italian food in the United States, we usually imagine pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, and lots and lots of cheese. Some of the foods we eat in the US are not exactly like the food in Italy, and today, you'll learn about a local Florence dish.

What food did I try?:

Parpardelle al ragù di cinghiale, or a wide pasta with wild boar sauce.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

Wild boar isn't something I would ever have tried at home, but I decided to give it a try while I was here because it's a local specialty. It was absolutely delicious!

How is the food prepared?:

The ragù sauce is a tomato-based sauce with meat, in this case, wild boar.

Is this food connected to the local environment? How?:

This is a local specialty! People in Tuscany have been eating wild boar for centuries.
