The weather has been mostly sunny this week! In Argentina, the seasons are the opposite of what they are in the United States, so we are now heading into fall. The days have started to get a little cooler, but temperatures are still usually in the low 80s. The cool autumn breeze is a nice break from the very hot summer sun!
I often see lots of dogs when I walk around the city. Owning dogs is very popular in Buenos Aires, and dog walking is a common job here! Sometimes I see someone walking six or even eight dogs at the same time. In Spanish, dogs are called perros.
One day on my way to school, I took a different route than I usually take and discovered a park along the Río de la Plata (name of a river that translates to River of Silver), the large river that borders Buenos Aires. The water looks very brown, but not because it is dirty. The riverbed is full of clay and sediment, which makes the water appear brown.
