The farthest place I went to this week was Manukau, which is about an hour away by bike and train. Manukau is in South Auckland, and it is where the Polyfest was held! I also went to Glen Innes and Parnell, which are closer suburbs of Auckland. (People who are from Honolulu don't normally say they are from Honolulu, right? Instead, they say which specific valley or area they come from. It's similar in Auckland! People don't just say they are from Auckland, they say the very specific suburb or region that they come from.)
The furthest I have traveled in Aotearoa so far is to Te Whanganui a Tara (Wellington), which is at the very southern tip of Te-Ika-a-Māui (the North Island), for the Fulbright orientation. Wellington's nickname is "Windy Welly" because it is always very breezy there! I have also visited Lake Taupō and Rotorua, which are between Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Whanganui a Tara.
