Meet Me, Munkhchimeg!

Introduction:

Hello American friends! My name is Munkhchimeg. I am 11 years old and in the sixth grade at Bayankhangai Secondary School in Tuv Aimag.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, I usually eat fried dough or bread. For lunch, I like to have noodle soup. For dinner, I eat any Mongolian meal.

What is your house like?:

My parents live in the countryside. My family lives in both a Mongolian ger and a house with a yard. It is very peaceful, comfortable and warm. However, I live in a dormitory while attending school.

What chores do you have at home?:

I do all kinds of chores, including sweeping, cleaning tables and washing dishes. At home, I also help my parents get water by collecting it from the river in the summer and from a well in the winter.

What jobs do your parents have?:

They are both herders.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

In the winter, school starts at 8:30 am and ends at 1:15 pm. The spring schedule begins at the end of March, when school runs from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Since I live in the dorms, I walk to school by myself. It takes me less than 5 minutes.
