Visiting Sir Ernest Shackleton's Hometown

The way that everyone happily chatted with strangers and told stories about their lives reminded me of everyone in my family, including myself! I'll never forget the incredible hospitality I was shown by everyone I met in Ireland. Although Shackleton was schooled in England and much of the world thinks of him as an Englishman, walking in his footsteps made it clear to me that his Irish family and upbringing helped him maintain harmonious relationships and a positive attitude among his crew members, as he engineered their improbable rescue frome one of the most remote places on earth.
