Meet Chief Steward, Adrian Morgan!

Introduction:

Chief Steward Adrian Morgan is a busy man aboard the S.A. Agulhas II. He oversees all the Stewards, types the daily menu, runs the Canteen (a small snack shop on the ship), assists at meal times, and much more--always with a big smile on his face that shows how much he enjoys his job. It was a pleasure to sit down with Adrian recently and ask him questions about his daily routine, his home life in Cape Town, and the many adventures he has had over the past three years aboard the S.A. Agulhas II. Let's meet him!

What is your full name?:

Adrian Morgan.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in two places. For 10 months out of each year, I live and work aboard the S.A. Agulhas II as it travels back and forth between far-away places like Gough Island, Marion Island, Tristan da Cuhna, and the South African research based called SANAE IV on the Antarctic continent. I spend the other two months in Cape Town with my family. We live in a four-room house in a part of Cape Town called Mitchells Plain.

What is your family like?:

My wife and I have been married for 12 years, and she takes care of our four children while I am at sea. I have two daughters (ages 21 and 11) and two son (ages 16 and 6), and I spend as much time with them as possible during my time in Cape Town.
