What main languages are spoken here?:

Spanish is the main language spoken in Bariloche. Some people also speak the native Mapudungun language. Lots of tourists from all over the world visit Bariloche, so you might hear other languages as well. This weekend I heard people speaking English, Portuguese, French, and Hebrew!

What type of money is used here?:

The currency of Argentina is the Argentine peso. With the current official exchange rate (which is changing all of the time!), 220 pesos = 1 US dollar.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water from a kiosko (corner store) costs 200-300 Argentine pesos. That’s equal to about 1 US dollar.

What was the best meal this week?:

Bariloche is known for its amazing chocolate. There are many shops where you can buy chocolate bars, truffles, and chocolate desserts of all sorts. I love ordering sipping chocolate because it is often chilly in Bariloche and this is a great way to warm up!

What music did I listen to this week?:

My friend Diana and I went to the Montaña de Canciones (Mountains of Song) music festival on Saturday and Sunday, which featured lots of local artists from Bariloche.
