Students at the University of Belgrade organized the project "Paint for Peace" with a mural of the Serbian Phoneix Flower. In Serbia, this flower represents the end of World War I
The "Ramonda serbica," commonly known as the "Serbian Phoenix Flower," is known for its resilience from drought and amazing ability to come back to life with a little water! The mural shows young people's strength in the face of difficulties
The artist who painted the mural, Andrej Žikić Artez
These huge towers, called silos, used to store grain and wheat, and are about 100 feet tall!
This area is home to honey bees and the murals bring awareness to the importance of bees to our ecosystem! Peace is usually thought of between people, but we also need to peace with our environment, including the insects!
This sculpture, called "The Hand," was made from recycled garbage. It shows that beauty can come from everywhere, even the most unexpected!
The art exhibit, called "Mir is Mirë," which means "peace is peace" in two languages. "Mir" means peace in Serbian, and "mirë" means peace in Albanian. This art exhibit showed art from Serbian and Kosovo Albanians artists. We even got to make our own art!
This art piece uses a solider's helmet as a flower pot. It shows how to change something violent (a helment worn during war) into something of life and growth (flowers and plants)
